Three curated ways to experience the expression of Yoka Incense Blend No. 1 in the home.
Yoka is a custom blend of incense developed by OGATA in collaboration with the NICOLEHOLLIS Collection. Ground by hand with a traditional Japanese mortar, it is grounded in a woody, smoky character with hints of a botanical expression, mixing classic elements of Japanese fragrance culture with global ingredients to create a modern scent aesthetic. It speaks to elements coming together and synthesizing into something new.
Yoka Set No. 1 contains 10 packets of Yoka and the lightweight copper Dimple Plate for enjoying loose grains of incense as a pot pourri.
Yoka Set No. 2 contains 10 packets of Yoka and a handmade porcelain Incense Jar for burning incense with charcoal to achieve a more intense aroma. Each jar comes with 10 charcoal tablets.
Yoka Set No. 3 offers the full Yoka experience, including both vessels and our Copper Spoon for customizing and varying the use of Yoka to create a custom ambience of scent.
This item is final sale.
To scent a room, pour the blend into a dedicated vessel, replacing once the fragrance has become extinguished.
To wear Yoka as a personal scent: Place the paper pouch into the linen sachet and carry in a purse or pocket.
To use the Incense Jar:
Set up the jar by filling with ash, leaving one inch of headroom at the top.
Light one corner of a charcoal tablet, place it on the ashes, and wait about 5 minutes.
Nestle a small spoonful of Yoka blend near the smoldering charcoal, but not on top. Adding more Yoka will intensify the scent experience.
Each charcoal tablet will burn for approximately 40 minutes; to extend the burn time add one tablet.
