Artisans in Japan use the “tsuiki” technique, practiced over centuries from the Edo period, to hammer and stretch sheets of copper into these Dimple Plates, creating lightweight additions to the modern tabletop. The finished texture is the result of thousands of individual hammer strikes, every one a remnant of the maker’s hand. They are silver-plated and waxed, and will develop a unique patina with time and use.
