Description

The monolithic form of this one-of-a-kind alabaster decorative bowl is a reference to antiquity for modern contexts. It is hand-turned from a block of Agata Scura alabaster, a rare and expressive brown stone sourced in Volterra, Italy. The ovoid undercut rim calls back to ancient Egyptian travertine vessels and a dialogue between the coldness of stone and the warmth of earth.

Alabaster may have a visible layer of oil upon arrival; this will be absorbed within a few days, resulting in a soft satin finish.

Care

Alabaster is naturally porous and fragile. We recommend cleaning with a dry cloth. For deep cleaning, use acetone or mineral spirits on a cotton swab. Never wash with water or use detergents, alcohol, or corrosive substances.
